Network Engineer We currently have a vacancy for a Network / IT Engineer. We are looking for someone who is willing to invest time and energy into making the role their own and becoming an important part of a growing business. Good General networking experience is required, experience using Fortinet products is preferential and a good general IT and networking background is essential. What would I be doing? • Provide remote and telephone support for client networks and IT Issues. • Provide on-site support for client networks and IT Issues. • Mainly covering central Scotland from office base in Glasgow city centre. • Partake in the company’s on-call support rota to provide ‘out of hours’ support in the maintenance of critical client systems. • An element of out of hours work will be required with options for overtime work on specific projects to be completed out of hours. • 2nd/ 3rd line support and projects for Enlinea customers. • Assist on improving internal technical processes and internal systems. • Based from Glasgow city centre. What does it take to get the role? • Must be willing to invest into growing their role and the company itself. • Excellent problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. • Ability to multitask, manage own workload and react quickly to urgent issues. This is essential. • Experience in identifying and improving gaps in procedures. • Strong organisational, communication and customer service skills. • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to own a problem. • Relevant IT qualifications. Fortinet NSE 4 or Above Preferential. Microsoft Certifications Adventageous. • Ability to quickly learn new applications and technologies. A genuine interest in emerging technologies is required. • Full UK driving license required. • Please submit your CV in PDF format. What technical skills do I need? • Experience of complex networks required and good understanding of networks (VPN, TCP/IP, VLANs) is essential. • 2+ years of Experience with Fortinet Products + Fortinet NSE4 certification or above extremely preferential. • Experience of PC and server hardware troubleshooting and problem solving. • Excellent knowledge and experience of virtualisation technologies – VMware/Hyper-V. • Microsoft Windows Server technologies and Active Directory. Group policy and PowerShell. • Excellent Microsoft Office 365 experience – ability to complete a basic Office 365 migration from start to finish is preferable. • Experience with Exchange Server and mobile email technologies. • Experience of cloud services.
